Abstract: Dallas is a city within the state of Texas, and has a population of about 1.3 million, making it the ninth most populous city in the US, and the third in Texas. Dallas is the main metropolitan area in the southern US and the largest inland metropolitan area that lacks any link to the sea. It has Fort Worth nearby, and because of the major railroad lines that are there, they are the sole providers of cotton, oil, and even cattle to the other areas of Texas, and even other areas of the US. With the construction of the interstate highways, it helped reinforce Dallas as a prominence in transportation and comes with major interstate highways that converge into a fifth and loop around. Dallas has then developed as a strong industrial and financial hub, and since it does have an inland port because of the highways, railroad lines, and even the airport, it’s known as one of the most busiest airports out there. It’s considered a beta global city, which means that there are sectors that are dominant, such as defense, information technology, transport, financial services, and even telecommunications, but there are more companies that are here than many other places. It’s a home to many Fortune 500 companies, including American Airlines, Exxon, and even JC Penny. It has a population with different religious and ethnic backgrounds, and there is a reason why it’s the sixth-largest LGBT population in the US, and one of the biggest in the Southern US. Dallas has been home to so many people, and it actually has thousands of years of culture due to the Caddo people that inhabited this area before the Spanish colonists got the territory within the 18th century as part of the viceroyalty that was created called New Spain. France later got the area, but not a ton of settlement. It was surveyed back in 1939 by John Neeley Bryan and it became present-day Dallas and created the settlement that was right on the Trinity River with the same name back in 1841. however, the original name of the city is uncertain. The Dallas skyline has several buildings that are over 700 feet tall in height, and while the architecture does date from the 19th and 20th centuries, it’s actually got many notable postmodernist areas, and has some beautiful towers that people can look at, including the JFK memorial, the Renaissance Tower, and the Comerica Bank Tower. Most of the area here if flat, and the elevation isn’t that high. There are a few limestone escapements, and also the trinity river. It was originally founded along the river, which is still used today as a big part of the city’s transport and infrastructure. It’s a place with lots of potential, and a whole lot that you can do with it, and since there are new projects being done every day, it’s a city with major growth and restoration that you can enjoy, and a lot of different landscapes too.
