Abstract: Seattle is a city near the sea on the west coast of the US. It’s part of King County, Washington, and it’s the largest city in the Pacific Northwest and in the state of Washington. The metropolitan area has about 4 million people there. It is a fast-growing city and the fastest in the US. There is a reason why it’s got this growth though, and that’s because it’s got a whole lot of booming industry, and a lot for people to look into. It’s situated between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, and it’s 100 miles from the border of Canada and the US. It’s a major trading hub with Asia, and it’s the fourth-largest port for handling. It was first inhabited by native Americans for about 4000 years before the first Europeans came into this. The place was founded by a group of travelers known as the Denny Party, which went from Illinois to here in November of 1851. The settlement then moved to the short of Elliott Bay and was latter named Seattle in honor of the local tribes that were there. The city was originally known for logging, but by the late 1800s, it soon became a shipbuilding and a commercial center and was a gateway to Alaska during the Klondike gold rush. After World War II, it grew even more because of the Boeing company, which was known for aircraft manufacturing. The Seattle area soon became a technology hub in the 1980s, and from there, places like Microsoft established themselves there, with Bill gates himself being a resident of Seattle by birth. Amazon was also founded in Seattle back in 194, with the major airline Alaska Airlines also founded in this area. There is a major airport here, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. This place also had a stream of new biotechnology, software, and internet companies, which led to a revival of the economy, and it increased the population by about 50,000 in just 10 years. Seattle is a music industry as well. Between 1918-1951, about 2 dozen jazz nightclubs started to establish themselves along Jackson street, all the way to the Central District, and it also was the place that started the early careers of musicians such as Ray Charles and Quincy Jones. Seattle is also the location where Jimi Hendrix started out, and the origin of the bands Food Fighters, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and even Soundgarden. It was also the birthplace of grunge music. The place has three major sports teams, both in the NFL, the MLB, and the NLS.wholesale candy Packaging. The city is known as Queen City, and Emerald City, simply because of the many lush forests of evergreens within the area, and it’s also known as the Gateway to Alaska since it’s actually super close to the Alaskan area. There are many different slogans and names for it, but it's a booming city for anyone looking to get into technology, and for anyone who wants to live in a major city.
